Mid-life Adjustments
I have a son turning 37 this year, my oldest, I started young, and that has made me think about all the things I want to do before I leave this body. Travel more, be with the people I love, make sure everyone knows that I love them and apologize for any transgressions. I’d really like to leave good memories behind and not hurt feelings or bad vibes.
I understand that the most important thing to remember about the midlife transition is that it’s normal. You are supposed to be considering who you are apart from your history and the roles you’ve played so you can play new ones. Our culture trivializes it, which is sad because it’s not a crisis, it’s an opportunity.
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.
